Rev. Lorenza James
Dr. Lorenza James is a deeply devoted spiritual leader, accomplished scholar, and celebrated author of three inspirational books.
Since 1995, Dr. James has served as the dedicated Pastor of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, guiding his congregation with passion and vision. Under his leadership, the church successfully paid off its debt years ahead of schedule, reflecting his commitment and stewardship. His ministry extends beyond the pulpit, as he actively serves his community through efforts like jail ministry at the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
Dr. James is a highly educated scholar, holding degrees from The University of Alabama (BA), American Intercontinental University (M.Ed.), and Northcentral University (Ed. D.). He is also a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having attained the active-duty rank of Captain.
Fueled by his profound love for God, his church, and people, Dr. James shares his spiritual insights through writing. His newest book, Passion, focuses on the energy that fuels our lives, love, and spiritual intimacy with God. Dr. James asserts that "love, life, and spiritual intimacy are the pursuits human beings long to find and personally explore for happiness and self-fulfillment."
He resides in Tuscaloosa with his wife of 51 years, Deborah Harris, and they are blessed with five children and eight grandchildren.
